I am writing this blog to ask each of you to remember a friend of ours in prayer. Her name is Karen Grant. You see, on Aug 3 her husband, and our dear friend, David Grant went home to be with the Lord. David was in his early 40's so this came as a shock to Julie and me. David has touched our lives in so many ways over the years. He founded the Christian Concert Hotline in the early 80's, and went on, years later, to found Hismusic.com, and Christiancoffeehouse.info. For years David was a part of the radio ministry of Sonshine 800AM. David was also instrumental in revitalizing the pre-Katrina local Christian music scene in many ways, one of which was helping found, and being an instrumental part of the New Orleans Christian Music Association. David influenced so much change in the Christian music scene but did not want the spotlight on him or any credit at all. David was the type of Christian that would meet a need in someone's life and never tell another person about it. Only Jesus knows for sure how many people David has touched over the years.
When David and Karen got married, you can tell it was a match made in heaven. Karen, a Christian vocalist and David's years of experience in the local Christian market united and began a ministry team that took the local market by storm. There was not too many weekends that Karen wasn't singing somewhere. Karen explained to us one day how inspirational David was in her music ministry, she credited him with all of her success thus far (and of course her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ). You can read more about Karen's music ministry at http://www.karengrant.com/.
I am proud to call David a friend; I will sorely miss my brother. I am happy to know he is seeing things right now that eye hath not seen nor has entered in the heart of man, the things that God has prepared for David. Yes, David did not want the spotlight here on earth, but Jesus is shining His light on the gold, silver, and precious stones that his works have produced over the years. I am comforted in knowing that he is experiencing joy unspeakable right now as I type this e-mail.
Please include David's parents in your prayers as well as his friends and other family members.
Danny
